During my present short trip to India for a week, I got a good stint to meet one of the resource persons in Udupi, Dr. Raghavendra, who is the Professor & Principal of the College. After having few times with him, he took me to a makeshift well-built indoor stadium, which I later came to know that a prestigious volleyball playoff "ALL INDIA INTER-UNIVERSITY VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR MEN-2022-2023" is ready to be debuted in the stadium.

Really I felt proud on seeing   the nice stadium in the premises of PoornaPrajna College (PPC) in Udupi, that is my home district.

Under the auspices of Mangalore University & PPC, the Championship is being held for five days & grand finale will be held on Sunday, Jan 8.

It's a zonal championship volleyball playoffs that contained of 4 zones- South, North, East & West. From each zone, there are 8 teams totaling 32 teams from all the zones in the contest for the Championship. The team,  that will be crowned with the Championship, will be qualified for the international level. That makes this volleyball game still more prestigious & colorful for the Mangalore University, PPC, Udupi district, our State & country.

I could make out a full gratification from the face of the Principal & other organizers of the event because of its prominence of holding in the college premise & Udupi district.

I got a chance to meet some coaches & managers of the teams of different universities like Mangalore University, Calicut university, Pune University, Utkal University from Orissa & others.

I met Mr. Leo from Chennai, who is a national coach for the Volley Acedemy in Pune & coach for the Pune University Volleyball team. He said-"Initially, there were more than two hundred teams to play, of which our team became triupmhed for this final championship by trampling the teams in the ground. He expressed his much confidence about his team's winning probability.

So also, I met Mr. Aradhya, who is manager of Utkal University team from Orissa. Most of the team members of the University  are the PG students from physical education faculty. The manager also expressed his high hope of his team's winning. Calicut university team is also hopeful of crowning the Championship.

This event was formally kicked off by the Adamar pontiff yesterday & it's said that it will be officially inaguarated by H.E. Governor of Karnataka today.

I wish all the teams a best of luck as well as the organizers.
