Veteran Expat Abdulaziz Kushalnagar Passes Away in Riyadh

Riyadh: Abdulaziz Kushalnagar, a long-time Indian expatriate from Kushalnagar-Karnataka, and a respected community member in Riyadh, passed away yesterday (10/04/2025) at a local Riyadh hospital in AlRabwah. He was 57.

According to sources close to the family & his close friend, Irfan Mani, Abdulaziz was admitted to the hospital on the 14th of Ramadan after he suddenly collapsed due to a cardiac arrest. On that evening, he had attended an Iftar gathering hosted by his friend in the Al-Shifa area of Riyadh. After breaking the fast and offering Maghrib prayers, he spent some time conversing with friends and later proceeded to offer Isha prayers at a nearby mosque.

Soon after leaving the mosque, he reportedly felt unwell and collapsed due to a heart attack. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he slipped into a coma. 

Despite continuous medical care, he did not regain consciousness and was declared dead yesterday afternoon after showing no response to treatment.

Following the completion of all necessary legal formalities—including clearance from the Indian Embassy and local Saudi authorities—his funeral rites were conducted on Saturday night after Isha and Janazah prayers at the Al-Rajhi Mosque. He was laid to rest at the Naseem Cemetery, where a large number of his relatives, friends, and well-wishers gathered to pay their final respects.

Abdulaziz had been residing in Saudi Arabia for over 35 years and was employed with a private company in Riyadh. Known for his warm personality, humility, and commitment to community service, he was an active member of various social and cultural organizations, including Malanadu Gulf Trust (MGT). 

He is survived by his wife, four children and a wide circle of family, friends, and community members, who deeply mourn his loss. Messages of condolence poured in from various parts of Karnataka and the Gulf region, remembering him as a kind-hearted and community-spirited individual.

Organizations like MGT Malanadu KSA, KNRI, Karavali Welfare Association, KSF Riyadh, KCF Riyadh & other various organizations expressed their deep commiserations over his death & also supplicated saying that May Almighty Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and give strength to his loved ones to bear this irreplaceable loss.
